Course Outline:

The aim of the course is to enable students to gain an understanding of Legal systems including how laws are made, the court structure and an introduction to Criminal and Tort Law.

Skills / Aptitudes required to be successful in this course:

Good written ability and a commitment to reading challenging but stimulating material would ensure good progress. The independent learner would excel in this course as there is a wealth of real life scenarios developing daily and reported in the media.

Complementary subjects:

English, Psychology, History and other reading based subjects are most typical however A level Law could complement a wide range of subjects.

Pathways – Careers:

The A level Law course would be suitable to any student who enjoys analytical thinking, and appreciates reading and writing. A student, having obtained the A level, can progress to any field at university. This course is not only relevant to a student wanting to pursue a career in law since many degree courses for example construction, engineering and business now also off law modules as an elective in the degree.
