Student Voice
“Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make change.” – Barbara Mikulski
At Hendon School, Student Voice is an integral part of the school community. It provides students with the opportunity to work with leaders of the school to help create a positive and welcoming teaching and learning environment. Students meet regularly with the Head Boy Shamarke; where a wide range of topics are explored and discussed; proposals are planned and actioned. Student Voice at Hendon is unique as it is run totally by the students.
Previously, students voiced their desire for improved toilet facilities. In the summer 2015 they were successful in the campaign, when it was announced that all the toilets were being refurbished. Student Voice then worked with the Deputy Headteacher and other students decide upon the colours for each toilet.
Student Voice also conducted research and helped to decide the new uniform that was launched in September 2015.
