HS6 Induction

6th form Induction is running from Wednesday 18th to Thursday 19th of June.

Over the course of these two days all applicants will get to experience lessons in their chosen subjects, learn more about life in sixth form, meet the tutor team and take part in some team building activities. Students should arrive to school by 8.30am in sixth form dress code (see below). Refreshments will be provided at break time but students should either bring food or money to go to the local shops for lunch.

HS6 Dress code

At HS6 we believe it is important to prepare students for life after school, including understanding the importance of personal presentation at work. The expectation is that all students should attend school appropriately dressed for a working environment.

  • Tailored trousers, smart chinos, skirt or dress of a suitable length
  • Leggings worn with a longer top or skirt
  • Blouse, shirt, tailored top or plain t shirts
  • Jumpers, cardigans or smart sweatshirts
  • Smart leather shoes or boots, or all black trainers
  • HS6 lanyard clearly visible

Unacceptable dress will include:

  • Clothing with offensive slogans
  • Jeans, shorts or combats
  • Trainers that are not all black, converse style canvas shoes, flip-flops
  • Hoodies, including ‘leavers’ hoodies
  • Revealing clothing including crop, strapless or backless tops
  • Tracksuits and sports gear
  • Hats or caps on school premises

We expect that students will adhere to these rules as part of their wider responsibility to the school community and to set a good example for the younger students.
