Summary:

Information Technology and Computer Science, the convergence of Computer and network technology, is a highly transformative discipline. It touches nearly all aspects of our lives: the way we work, learn, communicate, socialise and entertain ourseleves. Where would we be without it?

These days, success in any occupational field, be it law, medicine, business, education, entertainment, finanace, etc. requires a command of IT.

Course Outline:

R012 - Understanding tools, techniques, methods and processes for technological solutions (Exam 50%)

R013 - Developing technological solutions      (Coursework 50%)

Entrance Requirements:

Students who are taking courses leading to this qualification should normally have a corresponding Key Stage 3 Programme of Study within the National Curriculum.

We recommend that learners are working towards, a grade 4/grade C or above in maths and English GCSEs or an equivalent Level 2 qualification.
