"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education" Martin Luther King, Jr.
Success and Achievement is not the same thing. Achievement is something that is reached or attained, like an examination result or other goal. It is something tangible, clearly defined and measurable. Success, in contrast, is a feeling or a state of being. The PiXL Edge programme aims to bring together the development of the whole person, developing confidence, and ultimately success, in young people.
At Hendon School, we strongly believe in the holistic approach to education. We believe that character, grit and determination can be taught, nurtured and supported. We believe that learning is more than just the classroom.
PiXL Edge will give students the opportunity to develop leadership, communication, organisation, resilience and initiative. It will allow the students to experience different roles, ideas and scenarios that the classroom doesn’t always provide.
The PiXL Edge project is a way of making children into adults, of developing young minds and giving them the confidence to go out into the world with the skills necessary to succeed.
Hendon School launched PiXL Edge with the year 7's in January and the plan is to roll it out to the rest of the school through the year.
